A Tear In The Aorta — 2027

Director’s Note:
In 2020, the murder of George Floyd shook the world and deeply impacted me as an African American. Like many others, I found myself grappling with grief, anger, and a profound sense of helplessness as conversations about race, justice, and humanity unfolded across the country.
As a storyteller, I turned to the one place where I knew how to process those emotions: the page.
What began as an attempt to understand my own feelings evolved into a social drama exploring the emotional and human consequences of injustice. Through that process, A Tear in the Aorta was born. This project is rooted in pain, but it is ultimately driven by a desire for empathy, reflection, and dialogue. My hope is that audiences engage not only with the events on screen, but with the questions that linger long after the story ends.
  • Logline: After his father’s murder, a grieving young African American man investigates a corrupt police cover-up, forcing him to confront a truth that implicates his own family.
  • Genre: Dark Drama
  • Status: Pre-production
  • Expected Production Date: End of September 2026

Consequential Damages - 2028

Director’s Note:
For as long as I can remember, foster care has been a part of my life.
My grandmother was a foster parent who eventually adopted one of the children in her care. Years later, my mother became a foster parent as well, and much of my teenage years were spent sharing a home with foster siblings from different backgrounds, races, and life experiences.
Growing up in that environment exposed me to stories many people never hear. I witnessed the effects of mental health struggles, fractured family dynamics, abandonment, loss, and generational trauma. I also witnessed resilience, hope, and the incredible strength it takes for young people to keep moving forward after experiencing unimaginable hardship.
The stories of those children stayed with me long after they left our home.
Consequential Damages was born from those experiences. While this story is fictional, it is inspired by the emotions, challenges, and realities that many children in the foster care system face every day. This screenplay is my attempt to honor their experiences, amplify conversations about the systems designed to protect them, and explore what happens when those systems fail.
More than anything, this project is dedicated to the foster children who trusted my family with their stories. Their resilience continues to inspire me, and I hope this film encourages audiences to look beyond assumptions and see the humanity behind every child navigating the foster care system.
  • Logline: After two children flee an abusive foster home, a caseworker burdened by generational trauma becomes their last hope in a system determined not to believe them.
  • Genre: Dark Drama
  • Status: Pre-production
  • Expected Production Date: End of October 2027
